Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.)

Scientific Name: Helianthus annuus L.
Common Names: Sunflower, Wild Sunflower, Xiang ri kui (China)
Description

Sunflowers (Helianthus annuus L.) is a seasonal plant of the tribe (Asteraceae) are popular, both as an ornamental plant and oilseeds. Flowers of this plant is very distinctive: large, usually bright yellow, with a large flower head (can reach 30 cm diameter). This flower is actually a compound interest, composed of hundreds to thousands of small flowers on one knob. Sunflower also has a typical behavior, namely the interest is always facing the sun or heliotropisme. The French call it Tournesol or "wanderer of the Sun". However, these properties are removed in a variety of new cultivars for oil production because it takes a lot of energy and reduce yield.
Sunflower is the national flower of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the official state flower of Kansas, USA.
Sunflower old crop short, less than a year, erect, hairy, height 1-3 m,. Planted in the yard and gardens are getting enough sunlight, as an ornamental plant. Almost all parts of plant: Flower, Seed, Leaf, Root. 

Sunflower Seeds

Benefits of sunflower:
 
Flower
For the treatment of high blood pressure, reduce pain in headache, dizziness, toothache, menstrual pain (dysmenorrhoe), stomach pain (gastric pain), inflammation of the breast (mastitis), rheumatic (arthritis).
 
Seeds
To increase appetite, lethargy, bloody dysentery, stimulate spending rash (redness) on measles, headaches.
 
Root
For the treatment of urinary tract infections, inflammation of the respiratory tract (bronchitis), whooping cough (pertussis), white (leucorrhoe).
 
Leaf
For the treatment of Malaria.
 
Marrow from stem and flower base (reseptaculum):
For the treatment of gastric cancer, esophageal cancer and malignant mole. Also for stomach aches, bowel movements difficult and painful bladder (dysuria), urinary urinate pain in urinary tract stones, bloody urine (hematuria) and ari fatty urine (chyluria).
 

HOW TO USE:

Section Flower (Flower head):
For the Treatment of Headache.
25-30 grams of flowers of sunflower plants
1 egg (not solved)
Flowers and eggs boiled in 3 cups of water, so a 1/2 cup. Taken after meals, 2 times daily.

For the treatment of breast inflammation (mastitis):
Flower heads (without seeds), cut smooth, then dried.
Once dry roasted / toasted until charred,
Then ground into powder / flour.
Every time I drink 10-15 ounces, mixed with white wine, sugar, warm water.
3 times a day.
When drinking the first time, are required to sweat it out. (Sleep wear a blanket).

For the treatment of rheumatic:
Flower heads boiled up into starch, and then affixed to the sick.

For the treatment of dysentery
30 g of sunflower seeds brewed,
Then steamed for 1 hour.
Once appointed, add sugar to taste, and drink.
The root section:

To overcome the difficulties and the small bowel:
15-30 g of fresh sunflower roots boiled until boiling,
And drunk.

For the treatment of urinary tract infections:
30 g of fresh root boiled sunflower.

NOTE:
Marrow from stem and flower base contains hemicellulose, which inhibits sarcoma 180 and ehrlich ascitic carcinoma in mice. Extracts from the marrow may be able to destroy nitrosamines and tumor prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal (digestive tract).
 
CAUTION:  Pregnant women are prohibited from drinking boiled sunflower!
